The questions we are asked most.
Ownership, independence, reporting and how to reach the right desk.
The Group
What is Montlior Group?
Montlior Group N.V. is a media holding company headquartered in Meridale, Coravia. It owns three businesses: Montlior News, which publishes twenty-seven titles; Montlior Media, which represents advertising; and Montlior Wire, which distributes regulated company announcements in nineteen countries.
When was the Group founded?
Aldric Montlior founded the Montlior Press in 1962, publishing the first edition of the Meridale Chronicle on 4 September of that year. The Group has had one owner since.
Who controls the Group?
The founding family retains a controlling interest through the Montlior Foundation, which holds 55.2 per cent of voting rights on a 21.4 per cent economic interest. The dual-class structure was adopted at the 2011 listing specifically to protect editorial independence from short-term pressure.
Does the Group own any businesses outside media?
No. Montlior Group holds only its three media businesses. It has never diversified outside publishing, distribution and advertising representation.
Editorial independence
Can advertisers influence Montlior coverage?
No. The Editorial Independence Charter prohibits any advertiser, shareholder, director or government from directing coverage. Every approach that attempts to do so is logged and reported to the Board’s Editorial Independence Committee, and disclosed in the Annual Report.
What happens if someone tries to influence a story?
The report goes to the Editorial Independence Committee, chaired by an independent non-executive director with no executive role at Montlior. The committee can commission an independent investigation and publish its findings without management approval. Nine reports were received in 2025.
Who decides what Montlior titles publish?
Editors do. Editorial appointments are made by editors rather than by the Group, and no member of the Group Executive Committee — including the Group Chief Executive — may direct or review editorial content before publication.
How are corrections handled?
Corrections are published promptly, in the same place and at the same prominence as the original error. Every title runs its own corrections column, and all corrections are aggregated into a single public record each year. In 2025 the Group published 1,204 of them.
Investors
Where are Montlior Group shares listed?

Full-year results are published in February, the Annual Report in March, and half-year results at the end of July, with trading updates in May and November. All confirmed dates are on the financial calendar.
What is the dividend policy?
The Group pays an interim and a final dividend each year and has increased the total distribution in each of the last five years, most recently to CVM 1.18 per share. Dividend history is published on the share information page.
How do I contact investor relations?
Email investors@montliorgroup.example. The Group observes a closed period of thirty days before each scheduled results announcement and will not comment on current trading during it.
Does the Group comment on analyst forecasts?
No. Montlior Group does not comment on, endorse or distribute analyst estimates. Seven brokerage houses currently cover the stock.
Governance
How is the Board composed?
The Board has eight directors: the Founder & Chairman, a Deputy Chair who serves as Senior Independent Director, two executive directors, and four independent non-executive directors. Five of the eight are independent.
Which committees does the Board operate?
Five: Audit & Risk, Remuneration, Nomination & Governance, Technology & Data, and Editorial Independence. Each is chaired by a different director, and terms of reference are published in full on the governance page.
Is executive pay linked to audience numbers?
No. No executive incentive at Montlior may be linked to audience volume, page views or the advertising yield of any individual article. That restriction was written into the remuneration policy in 2018 and is enforced by the Remuneration Committee.
How can I raise a concern confidentially?
Through the independently operated speak-up line at speakup@montliorgroup.example, which is not administered by Montlior management. Reports concerning editorial interference go directly to the Chair of the Editorial Independence Committee.
