Our Brands

Three businesses, run at arm's length.

Each has its own board, its own profit and loss, and its own chief executive. The Group sets standards and capital; it does not set the news list.

Montlior News

Journalism

Twenty-seven titles, one standard of proof.

Montlior News publishes the Group’s mastheads in print and digital, from the Meridale Chronicle — the title Aldric Montlior founded in 1962 — to the Coravian Courier, the financial daily Exchange, and specialist titles in shipping, energy and law.

The division operates fourteen bureaux and employs 2,900 journalists. Every title runs its own corrections column, and all corrections are aggregated and published annually as a single public record.

Montlior Media

Advertising

Advertising that never crosses the floor.

Montlior Media represents advertising across the Group’s owned inventory and operates creative, production and photographic studios in Meridale and Valcourt. It also sells on behalf of forty independent publishers who are not part of the Group.

Constituted as a separate company in 1984 with its own board, Montlior Media has no access to editorial systems, embargoed copy or forward news schedules. Campaigns adjacent to Montlior reporting are disclosed on the page.

Montlior Wire

Press distribution

Disclosure, delivered in seconds and provable for years.

Montlior Wire distributes regulated company announcements and press releases to newsrooms, exchanges, regulators and market data terminals across nineteen countries. Every release carries a cryptographic timestamp and a permanent public record of any subsequent amendment.

The Wire is the Group’s most international business and its fastest growing. It is also the one most subject to regulation: filing routes are audited annually in each market in which it operates.

The common standard

One charter, three businesses.

Whatever the business, the same rule applies: commercial interest may not reach the newsroom floor, and any attempt to make it do so is reported to the Board’s Editorial Independence Committee and disclosed in the Annual Report.
