The Group has changed shape many times and owner only once. What follows is the short version; the long version is kept, page by page, in the archive at Chancery Quay.
Aldric Montlior founds the Montlior Press above a printworks on Chancery Quay. The Meridale Chronicle publishes its first edition on 4 September.
Montlior Media is established to sell and steward advertising across a portfolio that by then runs to nine titles.
Montlior Wire begins distributing regulated announcements to newsrooms, exchanges and, before long, terminals.
The Group lists on the Meridale Stock Exchange. The founding family retains a controlling interest and the dual-class structure that protects the newsroom.
The Editorial Independence Charter is adopted, and a standing board committee is established to enforce it.

Filing routes open in Ostergard, Sarnia Bay and Port Aurelle, taking the Wire’s regulated footprint to nineteen countries.
